1.1.2 Fluoricum acidum, Case 1
This is a 25 year old man who is very smartly dressed in a suit. He talks fast and rather incoherently, he shoots out short sentences as if he is firing a gun.
He is addicted to gambling, he can’t stop once he is in a ‘winning mood’. He feels he has to win. We wants to get to the bottom of the games he is playing.
An added bonus is that drinks are free in the casino. One day he lost so much money that he felt nauseated and revolted by his behaviour. He borrows money from his friends and his parents, everywhere he can. Once he feels his gambling mood coming over him he gets very restless and will use any excuse to get out of the house.
It all started when he had was unhappy at school. his teachers were irritating him, he found them too presumptuous and arrogant. he can’t stand hierarchies. In the year he had to take his final exams he suddenly left school, out of sheer boredom. he also hated school, ‘because all you have to do is work and you don’t even get any money for it’. he also felt frustrated around that time because he had applied for a job and did not get it.
He used to work as a mechanic, installing car radio’s and stereo systems. When he does work he often carries on without stopping. He is ambitious and would like to have his own branch.
He does it only for the money, ‘when I am fed up, I won’t work anymore.
He is good at bargaining an dealing, in his childhood he would trade marbles, steps etc. He was good at saving then too, quite stingy in fact.
He is haughty and takes it easy. When he was young he like teasing his younger brother, beating him on the head with a tray, or locking him up in a suitcase, that sort of thing. He doesn’t usually ask for a fight, but once he is provoked he will fight anybody, regardless of their size. He tends to hang on to past hurts, he won’t forget, one day he will take revenge.
He falls for beautiful women, especially those who don’t make a fuss. One day he had a girlfriend who was homesick and he promptly finished the relationship, because he couldn’t be bothered to deal with those sorts of things. He is sexually minded, which is also obvious from the sort of language he uses, he talks about ‘women with large tits’ and so on.
A typical dream: ‘I was taking part in a dancing competition and a girl came up to me and said I had to dance with her; she was very beautiful so I said ‘O.K. I don’t mind dancing with someone like you’, and we won the first prize!’
Generals

Analysis
The addiction to gambling is already a strong indication towards Fluor. But there are other interesting details too. We can see the themes of the Carbon series coming up such as money, sex, I centredness, ambition, desire to win.
The ruthlessness is typical of Fluor too, as is the desire to obtain money without effort, the rapid speech, being neatly dressed in a suit, stinginess, desire to save, to bargain, the arrogance, free drinks in the casino, taking it easy, beautiful women and always thinking of sex. The Characteristic superficiality of Fluor can be seen in his desire to get an insight into of a game of cards, to get to the bottom of it. In the dream we see the same themes again: a dancing competition, a beautiful girl, winning the first prize.
But which Fluoratum to choose? We could say that the superficial tendencies were total, including all aspects of his life. This points to the Acidums. Also: he can’t stop when he is in ‘a winning mood’, he totally exhausts himself in that respect. The tendency to fight is another indication for the acids. So we come to the remedy Fluoric acid.
Reaction
He has become much quieter since Fluoric acid 1M one month ago. He had a dream ‘in which he had won 7 million and so he immediately went out to buy a Ferrari.’ One day at work he said to his secretary: ’I am going home now to my little fuckpot’ and she had replied: ‘Surely that is not all there is to life’, and he had suddenly felt very ashamed. This was new to him, he would never have felt this shame before.
He got a new girlfriend who wasn’t the usual ‘wow’ type, but he did not break off the relationship as he would have done in the past, he was even a little intimidated by her. He stopped gambling too.
