Homeopathic lectures from a sailing trip on the Wad in the Netherlands August 28 to September 1st 2000

Preface
In the last week of August 2000, 14 homeopaths went on a sailing trip on the Dutch Shallows, de 'Waddenzee'. This is the water between the north coast of the Netherlands and the Frisian Islands. When the tide is low, the water pulls back and for miles the sea bottom appears with its shellfish, seaweed and glasswort. Thousands of birds then conquer the bare sea bottom where an inattentive sailor can 'fall dry' with his boat. Sky and water melt into one, the coast and the islands underlining the horizon. This is the grandeur of the Wad.
The trip was not only meant to enjoy nature, to go ashore on the different islands, take a swim or a long walk, but also to share ideas and visions on homeopathy. All participants delivered a lecture and the themes were so interesting and divers, that we decided to publish the different papers. This is the core of the book you now have before you: the Wad-stories.
To give you an impression of the wonderful days spent on the clipper 'Passaat', we enclose pictures of the ship and the environment. We also have added a handful of recipes of the most delicious meals we enjoyed and the description of the atmosphere of the trip is reflected in the proving with the albatross. Here is the place to thank all those people who turned the journey into an unforgettable experience of ascension. The intrepid skipper Jeroen and his mate Chris who taught us how to hoist the sails and tie the knots. The ever creative cook Ewout and the chief-purchase Nienke. Nienke is Rob Peters' wife and Jeroen and Ewout are his sons. His family coddled us, made the trip into a moment of pleasure, relaxation and allowed the homeopathy to flourish. Their presence made the journey cosy, efficient and agreeable.
We think the good time we had is reflected in this book, a book that Hannie van Rijsingen en Trix Geurts helped publishing by relentlessly collecting all the papers, and furthermore correcting, edi- ting and attuning the different contributions.
After all these words of thanks we wish you as reader a touch of delight as well as increased know- ledge and wisdom with this book.
